Bikes & Gear
Our trainings are suitable for all off-road and adventure motorcyclists, and you are welcome regardless of make and model of your motorcycle. You can ride your own motorcycle or any of our new BMW GS models. All you need to participate is a driver’s license for heavy motorcycles. If you are looking to buy a new bike and wish to test ride the newest GS models in an authentic environment, there is no better opportunity than this!
Damage and insurance on the bike
Our bikes are well protected with Touratech -crashbars, engine guards, radiator and headlight protectors etc. Smaller scratches (if you for example drop the bike) are usually “included” in the price of the training. If you cause a damage that requires changing of parts you simply pay for the changed part. If you for example brake a clutch lever, you pay for a clutch lever.
Our bikes are fully insured and if you cause bigger damage to the bike the excess is 10 000 SEK. If you choose the excess reduction (500 SEK) you lower the maximun excess from 10 000 SEK to 1 000 SEK.
All participants must use full protection gear to participate in our trainings. This includes an approved integral or motcross helmet, an approved back protector, shoulder protectors, elbow protectors, knee protectors, gloves and sturdy motocross boots. Touring boots are NOT to recommended, since they do not protect you foot well enough, if the motorcycle falls on it. If you are unsure about your equipment, don’t hesitate to contact us! If you do not have full giding gear, all gear can be rented from us. See Prices & Booking.
Which tires are suitable?
All of our motorcycles are equipped with offroad tires from Continental, TKC 80 – a tire suitable for both gravel and asphalt. The advantage of offroad tires are that you will get a shorter braking distance on gravel and better grip on slippery and loose surfaces. If you ride your own motorcycle on regular onroad tires you will do fine during our BASIC trainings, although it can be a bit slippery in wet conditions. For ADVANCED we recommend offroad tires.
How to choose motorcycle?
Don’t be frightened by the size, all available GS-models are very easy to ride. A 1200GS is as easy to ride as one of the smaller models, thanks to the engine torque that reduces the risk of “stalling”. Our training offers tips and tricks how to handle the motorcycle if your legs are not quite long enough, so you don’t have to worry even if you can’t reach the ground. If you feel unsure about the choice of motorcycle, don’t hesitate to contact us, we are happy to give tips and advice!
